Does my ceiling have asbestos in it?
It is basically impossible for you to evaluate whether you have asbestos in your ceiling or not as it demands chemical testing. Of course, you should check the material that was used to build the ceiling to find out whether it includes asbestos or not if you have access to and are able to see the label to read the ingredients of that material used in your ceiling.
Nowadays, asbestos is usually no longer used in Europe due to it health hazardous effect and in most of the countries it is even illegal, thus if your house is new and you believe that you constructor has used all the material that is allowed and he or she did not do anything illegal than you have nothing to worry about. If this is not the case and you are afraid that he or she might have used some materials that have asbestos in it just to spend less money than he or she is charging you than you should ask some specialist to check it.
Actually the question whether your ceiling has asbestos or not is a very important one as this substance can cause serious health problems not only to you but to your whole family.
