Should joint tape be used where the wall meets the ceiling?
When you are using drywall ceilings than joint tape is used quite often between walls and ceilings after filling all the gaps. But this process should not be done very often, I mean that if new caps keep on emerging where the wall meets the ceiling than you should not only rely on the joint tape as it is not normal that you have to keep filling the gaps. In this case, there are problems with the way how either the ceiling or the wall was installed as it seems that it was not done in line with the other parts of the room. It might also be caused by the shifts in the foundation, which means that the walls would more from their original location just enough to create a gap between itself and the ceiling.

So as it was already said before, joint tape can be used between the wall and the ceiling, but usually it is not a permanent solution as the places where you would need to use the joint tape might be the first indicators of a more serious problem yet to come. Thus, if you see an necessity to use joint tape, than contact somebody who knows more about house repair works as they can probably see the real causes of it.
