How to wire a ceiling rose? • Use the circuit breaker box and turn off the power to the desired room.
• Remove the screws that hold the fixture in place, and lower it down. Remove the light crossbar as well.
• Check for electrical power. If your voltage connector lights up, it is not wise to continue working.
• With the power off, touch a probe to hot, red wire and the other one to the metal cover. If it doesn’t light, call an electrician and have it grounded.
• Assemble the light following the instructions provided.
• Attach the crossbar onto the ceiling box and screw it onto the ceiling. With another pair of hands this will be a lot easier.
• Attach the white wire and red wire from the fixture to the wire and the corresponding colours coming down from the ceiling. Attach the two cables by sliding a wire connector on the two wires, twisting it together. An uncoloured or yellow wire coming from the light is a hot wire, and is attached to red or black wires coming from your box.
• Connect the neutral wires from the lamp and the neutral wires in the box. Those from the lamp are marked or with silver conductors. Box ones are with silver conductors or white.
• Close the box, sliding up the canopy and tightening its nut on the crossbar.
