What term is used for a ceiling that recedes in layers and trays? Sometimes recessed lighting can be set into the trays behind crown moulding, etc. It's not a vaulted ceiling but a _____________ ceiling. Can't come up with the term!

i agree with glenn--trey celing. i would also call it a stepped ceiling.
