Do you paint a tray ceiling the same color as the walls?

Do you just paint just the angled part or the angled part and the ceiling?

Many people choose a shade lighter than the one chosen for the walls. Use the paint sample card from the store and go one shade lighter. Go one even lighter for the ceiling. This gives you three shades of the same color and creates a nice effect.

we have chosen gold metallic below the chair rail burgundy above.the upper part of the wall is broken by a picture rail and crown moulding.the tray is broken by a soffet horizontally and vertically before reaching the actual ceiling. oh, what to do? help! i think it should have color, maybe even using color to differentiate between the laterl section and vertical section. using the upper wall color on the flat with the gold band stopping at the ceiling. my partner is less than enthusiastic. george
