decorating will be quite easy if you have an interior designer to really give what you want. but usually, rooms with high ceilings would use some dangling decorations like chandeliers or ceiling fans. your furniture should at least blend with the lighting, wall color and ceiling height. your high ceiling could use some illumination. you may use spot lights or hanging lights to improve atmosphere. sound? do you mean sound proofing?
