how can i stop a popcorn type ceiling over the bath tub/shower from peeling, is the steam from the shower the problem and if so, does it need to be sealed with something.

have you checked inncov? stretched (suspended ceiling system) ? it is installed over existing ceiling ( tracks can be installed on the wall or ceiling). tracks 1"1/4 or 3/4" so it takes that much space. it is water proof and air-tight system. best solution for popcorn ceiling. made in us and starts $3.75 per sq ft good luck ray chepaitis

yes, it is because of the steam. what you need to do, i suggest, is to change the type of ceiling you are using for your shower room. ceramic ceiling is a good choice.
