my home was built in 1982. i want to remove the popcorn ceiling which i had tested for asbestos and which tested negative. i am wondering what else could be in the popcorn as i am chemically sensitive. if the ceiling has styrne in it does that

indicate that flame retardants may have been added? i am very sensitive to them. thanks.

the best way for you to do to make sure that your ceiling is chemical free is for you to replace your ceiling with a new material that is chemical free. the cost of testing your current ceiling may be the same with replacing it with a new material.
