is there such a thing as fireproof drywall.i always thought all drywall was fireproof and for proper fireproofing you should use 5/8.

yes there are fireproof drywall variations in the market. but basically, all drywall products are made to have fire-resistance features. 5/8 for fireproofing is a yes.
