trying to get rid of my textured ceiling using a paint product or something else
I am tired of the textured ceiling in my kitchen so I was wondering if ther is a product out there that I can apply to cover the textured part and leave the ceiling looking more smooth. Is there possibly a special thick paint that could cover the textured ceiling? Or is there some type of spackle like substance that covers over it that would then allow me to then paint the ceiling to look smooth?

You can cover everything in plastic, cause its going to get messy. Wet the ceiling with a garden sprayer and use a wide spackle blade to scrape it off. The easier way is to hang new drywall over it.
