What causes ceiling cracks and bowing.
I can't find a leak and the ceiling is not soft. It is bowed outward in one spot in a line that goes from one room into another. There is also a crack in the spot at one end of the wall.

i have the same thing in my condo. before i purchased it, i had an inspector go in the attic and check for what the cause was. there was no sign of water damage at all so the inspector told me it was probably due to somebody stepping on the panel while they were in the attic. i ended up getting $5k taken off the price of the condo but i'm worried it's going to bite me one day.
