I want to paint our master bedroom walls a rich brown color. My husband is fine with that, but when I mentioned painting the popcorn ceiling a caramel color, he was against it. I want the room to have a romantic feel. Do I leave the ceiling white
Additional details: The wood trim in the room is a medium brown. the king sized bed is a little deeper brown wood, it's a beautiful Pulaski sleigh bed, and the ceiling is vaulted a little then there is the dental style wood molding and then the ceiling is flat with a celing fan hanging down. Color of the bed linens are to be a rich deep red color with some bronze or gold in it as well. Help!

That would complement the walls, however it is difficult to do. Popcorn ceiling should be sprayed. If you roll the ceiling the texture tends to peel off.

We painted alot of popcorn ceiling when we purchased our house. The trick is to use a thick roller and ONLY roll it up and back. Do NOT roll over the same area a third time, or it will start to peel off.

as an option you can use prepainted polystyrene tiles , some of them come in biege color and those could be glued up straight to the popcorn ceilings (quick installation with no prep work). one of the stores is here http://www.talissadecor.com/?p=catalog&m=31
