How far to you paint up the wall of a sloped ceiling? Where do you consider the all ends and the ceiling begins? If I paint up the sloped wall and have a small ceiling space, will it make the room look smaller?

i live in a cape cod style home and was wondering the same thing a while ago so in the one bedroom i painted up to the true ceiling as i was using a beige paint and it looks great in the other room i was using a darker paint (wedgewood blue) and since it was dark i painted the slopes the same color as the ceiling and it looks great also so my advice would be if your going with a lighter paint color to paint the slopes and if you are going to paint the walls slightly darker or much darker to paint the slopes the same color as the ceiling hope i helped.
